The fastest way to browse your own photos

Browsing your photos on your own computer can be slow, even if you have a very fast computer. The reason is that your photos are probably high resolution and your computer has to generate thumbnails on the fly. It takes quite a lot of processing power so when you browse your photos on your computer you might find it to be slow and take up a lot of system resources.

Use the power of the cloud

Why not take advantage of the cloud! There is a lot of processing power in the cloud that can process your photos and make sure you get a fast browsing experience. These days we have so fast internet connections that it’s faster to upload your photos and have a server make a thumbnail than it is to have your personal laptop try to compete with the cloud.

Myra Cloud is specialized in photo backup and our approach is that when photos are uploaded, they are often 6000 pixels big, which is three times the size of the computer screen and will be slow to show, but great to keep around in case you want to work on the photo or print it.

So we always keep the original, but we also make a thumbnail to help you browse and then a version of 1600 pixels, perfect for most computer screens.

Simple and fast browsing experience

Other cloud storage providers go a different way. They are either just that, cloud storage, and do not help you to browse your files – or they go too far, like Google Photos, where they try to put animations and artificial intelligence on your photos, slowing down your browsing experience so much that it’s tedious to work with.

In Myra Cloud we have one main goal and it is that it must be FAST and it’s our promise that we will always be the fastest, so you will never wait for anything. You can browse as fast as you want to.

You get 100 GB for free to get started with Myra Cloud and that’s enough for thousands of high resolution images, so try it out for yourself and see how fast it is to browse your photos. You can upload up to 30,000 photos in one go, just drag a folder of photos to the web page. That’s it. Sign up now to try it.

A totally free photo backup service with 100 GB free space. Enough for about 10,000 photos in Full HD

No! With Myra Cloud you always maintain the original resolution that the photo was shot in. We automatically make smaller versions as well so you can more easily and quickly browse your photos.

The expensive part is the infrastructure to handle global scale and that is already done. Space is in itself not very expensive and we hope of course some people upgrade to Premium or order the occasional photo book.

For starters, the you get 50 times more free space in Myra Cloud than in Dropbox and if you need more, that’s cheaper too. Also, if you don’t want the whole world to see your private family pictures, then Dropbox might not be a good choice, as it’s scattered with “Share” buttons that no one is really sure how exactly works.

Facebook will decrease your photo quality to a level where it is unusable for print. Myra Cloud will not decrease your photo quality at all and you will maintain the original quality that the photo was shot in!

Good question. Google has a good offering with Google Photos, but if you are interested in storing full resolution photos at low cost, then Myra Cloud is the clear winner. You get 5 times more free space and when you run out, Myra Cloud is still about 3 times cheaper.

Another reason you might prefer Myra Cloud is that Google Photos is just so feature heavy that it is very slow and seems no longer to be about your photos. Myra Cloud is focused on giving a FAST browsing experience, even on low end laptops.

Not today, but very soon. Videos are not the main focus of Myra Cloud, but we will definitely support uploading videos, playing them back and downloading them again.
